KEITHVILLE, LA - Funeral services for Karen Blundell Scroggins, 58, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park West. Brother Curtis Spears will be officiating. Visitation with the family will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the funeral home.
Karen was born on February 20, 1958 in Shreveport, LA to Bobby Gene and Lola Spillman Blundell and passed away on September 19, 2016. She was a 1976 graduate of Woodlawn High School. Karen worked as a Caddo Parish School Board Bus Driver and drove bus #001. She was a proud veteran bus driver with 14 years' experience; loved her students and co-workers and spoke of them often. She enjoyed spending every minute she could with her grandchildren and doted on them every chance she got. She will be remembered affectionately for her funny personality, kind spirit, joyous laughter and love of family.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Lola Blundell and her brother, James Blundell. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Valerie Branton and husband Jeremie; granddaughters, Madeline Branton and Marilyn Branton; brothers, Roger Blundell and wife Alice, Brian Blundell, and Ricky Blundell; sister, Paula Golemon and husband Michael; Karen adored all of her nieces and nephews, Heather Tabor and husband Charlie, Zachary Blundell and wife Ashley, Katie Blundell, Morgan Foster and husband Lance, Kelly Blundell and Roger Blundell, Jr., several great-nieces and nephews and her very special friend, Greg Moseley.
Honoring Karen as pallbearers will be Roger Blundell, Jr., Zachary Blundell, Charles Tabor, Lance Foster, Marvin Stewart, and Jerry Gandy. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Scroggins and James Meier.
