Katherine Joann Hughes

Minden, LA : Katherine Joann Hughes Katherine Joann Hughes of Minden, Louisiana passed away on September 23^rd, 2016. She is preceded in death by Her father, Chester Thomas Lovett and mother, Opal Jewel Hurdle Lovett; Her sisters, Betty Lovett Heflin, Barbara Lovett Keith, Glenda Lovett Benefield, and Brother, David Lovett; and grandchildren Patrick and Madeline Parnell. She is survived by her brother Leon Lovett of East Texas; Her husband of 53 years Howard Wesley Hughes, whom she married on November 2^nd, 1962, sons Howard Bradley Hughes and John Eric Hughes, daughter Melinda Hughes Parnell; Grandchildren Evangeline Hughes, Gus Hughes, Thomas Parnell, Sarah Parnell; along with many nieces and nephews. Joann helped many as a nurse during her years at Doctor's Hospital, and enjoyed many afternoons in the outdoors as a master gardener. She was active in service at Beech Springs Baptist Church and sang in the choir. She is and will always be loved and missed. Services will be held in Minden, Louisiana at Beech Springs Baptist Church on Monday, September 26^th.
