Kathryn will be remembered for her generous support of the arts in an effort to better her city. She was the epitome of a gracious and charming Southern lady and made everyone feel very special. One of her happiest times was serving as the school secretary at Riverside Elementary School. To this day, those students often thank her for giving them lunch money, easing the pain of being \"in the principal\'s office\", or just making their lives a little easier.
She has quietly influenced many young people by encouragement and expressing a sincere interest in them. Learning was a life-long passion of Kathryn\'s, and she assisted others in obtaining a college education. Her zest for life included actively working in her family business until age 87. Her grace, serenity and encouragement will be missed by her family and friends.
Kathryn was active in her church, Kings Highway Christian Church, working as a nursery attendant, participating in the women\'s ministry, serving on the Stewardship Committee, and serving as a member of the Diaconate. She was also a member of Shreveport Symphony Guild, Shreveport Opera Guild, The Petroleum Club of Shreveport and East Ridge Country Club.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the loving care provided by her caregivers, LaShone Burks, Dorothy Bush, Tracy Hughes, and Tammy Huey. Much appreciation is also expressed to Ceressie Robinson for her faithful years of loyalty and friendship. Many thanks and grateful appreciation to Dr. Huan Le and Dr. Christopher Wolcott, the entire staff at Montclair Park, the doctors, nurses, and staff at Willis-Knighton North, Willis-Knighton Pierremont and Grace Home.
