Kathryn "Ann" Mixon

Shreveport, LA – Kathryn “Ann” Mixon age 96, died in Shreveport, Louisiana, on February 8, 2024.  Ann will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Betty Geyer and husband Roy, Donna Ann Chandler and husband Don, Kathy Garrelts and husband Scott, and Mark Mixon and wife Wendy. She also leaves behind 12 cherished grandchildren, Gail Medina and her husband Randy, Donna Arevalo, Jennifer Chandler, Hannah Garrelts Wilson and her husband Zach and daughter Emma, Shelly Hamilton and her husband Matt, John Wayne Mixon, Rainey Koegelenberg and husband Gideon, Landon Bryant, and Kylee Mixon, Angela Lawrence, Rachel Jacobs and husband Andrew, Nathan Mixon and wife Emily.  Ann was blessed with several great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.   

Billie Bradley, Ann’s sister, is left to cherish her memory. Ann is predeceased by her husband of 35 years John David Mixon, her sons, William H. Mixon and Ronald D. Mixon, her mother Thomas (Tommie) D. Henry, her father Henry A. Sheppard, her sister Neva Shadowens 

Born November 21, 1927, in Nacogdoches, Texas.  She built her life with her husband and children in Shreveport, Louisiana.  She worked for Louisiana Bank & Trust for many years always lending help to all her customers.  She then went to work at Willis Knighton Health System in a variety of patient care positions and remained there until the pandemic in 2020.  Everyone at the hospital fondly remembers her as “Ms. Ann on the scooter”.  In her free time, she enjoyed going to dinner and traveling when possible and she never missed her weekly hair and nail appointment. 

Ann was the epitome of a southern lady with her charm and character. She will forever be remembered as a beloved mother and grandmother.   

The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
