Kathy S. Wilburn

Funeral services for Kathy S. Wilburn, 65, will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Monday, June 28, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Brother Billy Crosby. Kathy was born on November 13, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Ishmael Carl Sipes and Ester Ione Baker Sipes and passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Kathy was a resident of Shreveport. She retired from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office and was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church. She lived her life for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her joy! She also loved boating, camping and being with her friends. She was the best mom and greatest MeMe ever! Kathy is preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Danny Wilburn; son, Shawn Perkins and girlfriend, Tami Peterson; daughter, Katie McGrew and husband, Ken; grandchildren, Garret Perkins, Kirstin McGrew and husband, Bubba, Kayleigh McGrew Vierdag and husband, Dalton, Dalton McGrew and girlfriend, Crystal Adams, Spencer Perkins and Nicholas Perkins; great-grandchildren, Cohen Price, Kaeman Vierdag, Olivia Vierdag and Jameson Price; brothers, Stan Sipes and wife, Amy and Doug Sipes and wife, Kim; sister, Becky Vaughan and husband, Rob; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Also, of great importance to Kathy, was her best friend, Dorothy Troudt, whom she travelled with, enjoyed life's adventures and shared a sisterly bond. Her other close friends are Sharon Lindsay and Janice Graham. Kathy will be greatly missed! Honoring her as pallbearers will be Garret Perkins, Dalton McGrew, Spencer Perkins, Nicholas Perkins, Bubba Price and Dalton Vierdag. The family would like to express special thanks to the Willis-Knighton North ICU staff for the care and compassion given to Kathy during her time there.
