Kay Sue Fincher Staples Ogletree

Kay Sue Staples Ogletree, 79, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021. Kay was born October 2, 1941 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Kay graduated from Greenwood High School in 1959. She retired from AT&T Manufacturing after transferring to Columbus, Ohio from Shreveport. Kay was an avid bowler, and had many fellow bowlers that she loved dearly. Kay was of the Baptist faith. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Gurtha Lucille Fincher and Whit Fincher. Survivors include her husband; Erwin Ogletree; brother, Robert Fincher (Anita); sister, Patricia McQuire; son, Mike Staples (Denise); daughters, Melissa Staples Wright (Monty), and Monette Staples Harris (Donnie); grandchildren, Danielle Cox (Jon), Candace Schutts (Stephen), Stephen Staples (Kasey), Brian Headrick (Kristina), Gary Headrick, Michael Harris (Nikki), Michelle Harris Smiley (James) and Madison Harris; great-grandchildren, Lillian Cox, Charlotte Cox, Preslee Headrick, Paxton Headrick, Addyson Foster and Lilley Smiley. Also surviving Kay are her stepchildren, David Ogletree (Donna), Teresa Ogletree Conforto (Lou) and Lisa Ogletree Berry (John); stepgrandchildren, Nicholas Ogletree (Maria), Clayton Ogletree, John Berry Jr. (Whitney), Tyler Berry (Bailey), Alison Conforto Le (Minh) and Monica Conforto; stepgreat-grandchildren, Olivia Berry, Emmalin Berry, Bronx Berry, Benton Berry, Casen Ogletree and Laken Ogletree; numerous nieces and nephews and many precious friends. Services will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr. on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the services will be Brother Jeff Segner, Associate Pastor of Springs of Grace Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., immediately following the service. Honoring Kay as pallbearers will be Brian Headrick, Gary Headrick, Michael Harris, Stephen Staples, Monty Wright and Donnie Harris.
