Kenneth Wayne Harvey

Kenneth Wayne Harvey was born on March 2, 1947 to R.V. Harvey and Mary Frances Liles Harvey of Oak Grove, Louisiana, now Stanley, Louisiana. On February 6, 2021 God reached down his hand and took Kenneth to his eternal home in Heaven. Funeral services honoring the life of Kenneth Wayne Harvey will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at First United Methodist Church Logansport. Officiating the service will be Rev. Delbert Terry and Rev. Nancy Wofford. Interment will follow the service located at Bethel Cemetery in Logansport, Louisiana. Kenneth is preceded by his father R.V. Harvey; stepfather, Lamar (Hank) Williams; mother, Mary Frances Liles Harvey Williams; half-brothers, Tommy Lane Williams and Terry Lamar Williams; along with uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and his grandparents, Elvin and Izzie Liles. He is survived by his Aunt Gay Nell Liles Straus; cousins, Joe C. Liles, Perry Liles, Jerry Liles, Kerry Liles, Ranee Terry, Pete Liles, Mike Liles, and Randy Liles. As an outstanding student at Logansport High School, Kenneth was the Quarter Back for the football team. It was at a homecoming game, November 1964 while playing Many High School that Kenneth sustained a brain stem injury that was inoperable. Dr.'s gave him two years to live, God gave Kenneth seventy-three. God had a plan for Kenneth, Isaiah 55:8-13, God said my ways are not your ways and my thoughts are not your thoughts. After Kenneth's injury he was in a coma, as soon as he could speak, the first thing he said was, when I get home I want to be Baptized. God's plan for Kenneth had just started. At home Hank, Frances, Terry, and Kenneth had a love for each other and a love for God that was unending. Kenneth was never down on himself, he would say someday, "We will be with Jesus and walk the streets of gold." How many lives did Kenneth touch in the name of Jesus, no one will ever know. God does. Ben and Cynthia Freeman sponsored a movie "Gamechanger: The Kenneth Harvey Story" The Love of God and respect for all. When God took Kenneth home, he was met at the Gates of Heaven by Jesus that said, "Welcome home my good and faithful servant." Honoring Kenneth as pallbearers will be Pete Liles, Mike Liles, Michael Simpson, Randy Liles, Perry Julian Liles, and Dean Register. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Dale Gannon, Donnie Stillwell, John Russell, Wayne Waggoner, Billy Creech, Doug Spears, Mike Parker, and Ben Freeman.
