Kenneth Raymond “Tootie Ray” Deemer, age 77 was born in Robstown, TX on November 20, 1946 to Kenneth Roy Deemer and Doris Redd Deemer and passed from this life on August 25, 2024 at Christus Highland Medical Center in Shrevport, LA.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 5th at Cypress Baptist Church, 4701 Palmetto Drive, Benton, LA with Pastor Kevin Flattman officiating. Visitation will be held at 3:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Tootie Ray was an avid hunter and fisherman. He lived on Caddo Lake and loved everything about the lake. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion Post #138 and was a past commander. Tootie Ray had a passion for motorcycles and loved to ride his Harley. He was the current state president of Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club. He loved to cook and was especially known for his bar-b-que.
Tootie Ray’s pride and joy was his family and spending time with his daughter and grandchildren who he loved very much.
Tootie Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Roy Deemer and Doris Redd Deemer.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kennon Deemer Horn; grandchildren, Mary Malynn Pritchard and husband, Michael, Tanner Drew Burton and wife, Emerald and Emma Rae Burton; great-grandchildren, Henry Lessey Hordatt, Wyett Pritchard, Ember Burton, Nash Burton and Beau Langley. He is also survived by his brother, Eddie Roy Deemer and wife, Mary; sister, Angela Deemer Walker; half-sister, Patricia Deemer and numerous nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends.
