Kris is survived by his beautiful wife, Wendy, and two precious daughters, Madeline and Ainsley; his mother, Jennie Dickerson Petty; brother William Charles Petty II; half brother William James Petty; half sister Beverly Petty Andes and husband, Chuck, and son, Justin; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and special friends: Tim and Teresia Dickerson, Jonathan Dickerson and wife, Sarah, Matt Dickerson and wife, Kelsi; Greg and Nina Dickerson, Suzy Poteet and husband, James, Gregory Dickerson and wife, Rose; Patrick Dickerson and wife, Anita, Jamie Dickerson; Kristy Morris; David and Patti Carmical; Cody, Rebecca, Ava, and Adley Bogan; Ben Scheen, Sr. Kris has been reunited in Heaven with his father, William Charles Petty; paternal grandparents, Charles H. He especially enjoyed telling stories and giving people a hard time, and we all know he had a way with words. He loved spending time with Wendy and his girls. You could always count on him to be at any church, school, or sporting event cheering his girls on. He and Wendy enjoyed watching movies, cutting up, and just spending time together. A life celebration service will be held Monday, January 18, 2016, at 11 am at Summer Grove Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Aaron Burgner and Pastor Steve Wilson. Visitation will begin prior to the service at 9:30 am. Interment to follow at Centuries Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be cousins Jonathan, Matt, Patrick, and Gregory Dickerson; friends Chris Darsey, Kris Berry, Boyd Peterson, and Orlando Flores. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Covington and Craig Lawless. We give special thanks to our angels here on earth that went above and beyond caring for Kris and our family. Thank you to the staff at Christus Schumpert Highland ER and ICU. An extra special thanks to the staff at University Health MICU. The care, kindness, and compassion shown to our family by them was incredible. This staff was truly invested in taking care of Kris and our family, and they shared in our overwhelming sadness. We also want to thank our Summer Grove Pastors and staff, many friends, family, and awesome church family for being at our side day and night and standing in the gap interceding on ours and Kris' behalf. Everyone rallied around Kris and us and the prayers are felt. Daddy, we can't wait to have more shoulder and airplane rides to bed. We will all miss your loud and unique laugh and smile. We will see you again in Heaven, "Big Daddy." In lieu of flowers "Kris Petty Benefit Fund" has been set up at Red River Bank for Wendy and the girls.
