Kurt Nylund passed away at the home he shared with his son, Howard and daughter-in-law, Carol in Longview, TX on Monday, November 30, 2015. Kurt was born in Chicago, IL on June 5, 1925. After the death of his mother, he and his twin brother, Arne went to live with relatives in Hovland, MN until he enlisted in the Air Force in 1948. While stationed at Barksdale, AFB, he met and married Eunice Tullis, December 8, 1950. They had two children, Howard and Marie. He retired from the Air Force in 1968 and held various jobs, including Head Custodian at Bossier High School and Bossier Parish Community College, and later at Waller Baptist Church. Kurt was an active member of Waller Baptist Church for over 60 years and served the Lord as a deacon, a member of the choir, and was ever present to help with anything and anyone as needed at the church. After moving to Longview, he found a new church and became a member of Heartland Baptist Church in Longview. Kurt is preceded in death by his wife, Eunice; daughter, Marie; brother, Glenn Nylund, twin brother, Arne Nylund, and great-granddaughter, Emily. He is survived by his son, Howard and daughter-in-law, Carol Nylund; granddaughter, Ginny Stroman and husband, Mike Sanders; great-grandsons, Joe Phillips and fiancée, Crystal Conradson, Sonny, Sammy and Seth Stroman; granddaughter, Brandi and husband, Danny Bradford and great-granddaughter, Kirsten; niece, Bonnie Nylund; nephew, Alan Nylund; brother-in-law, Charles Tullis and wife, Dee, and various other nieces and nephews and their children. A gentle soul with a beautiful smile and loving attitude, it is hard to imagine anyone meeting Kurt and not thinking he was the nicest man they ever met. He will be deeply missed by so many people, especially his best friend for over 60 years, Hal Becker and his wife, Effie.
