L. G. Morgan, 91, passed away in Bossier City on October 30, 2017. Services will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery, Bossier City. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Rose-Neath Bossier. L. G. was born in Shongaloo, LA in Webster Parish on July 28, 1926. He married Gloria Jeanne Ware in 1946. They had one child, Michael Wayne Morgan. L. G. served in the Navy during World War II and participated in five invasions of the Pacific Islands. He worked as a printer on the two local papers, the Times and Journal, from 1940-1959, taking time out for the war. He served several years as president of the Shreveport Central Labor Council, president of the Printer's Union and held various other union offices. In 1959, he left the newspaper and spent the remainder of his working life with the National AFL-CIO. He was a proud union member. He was, however, more proud to be a Christian. He was a member of Cypress Baptist Church in Benton. He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Sidney Morgan, of Springhill, LA as well as three sisters: Val, Ola, and Dorothy and four brothers: Lester, Jr., Jimmy, Welton (Bud), and Jarrell. He is survived by his wife Gloria Jeanne, his son and daughter-in-law Mike and Ammiee, three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers: David and his wife Sherri and Billy as well as four more sisters-in-law: Lynn Morgan, Minnie Morgan, Jeannie Morgan, and Mary Hammons. L. G. was an avid golfer. He had 14 holes-in-one in his lifetime. He enjoyed his life here, but he left this world prepared and ready to spend eternity with his Lord.
