Lance Christian Bryan

Lance Christian Bryan, 48, of Hall Summit, LA, passed away at home surrounded by family on May 15, 2023, after a short battle with cancer.

Lance was born April 17, 1975, to Kathleen (Katy) and Jerry Bryan in Daytona, FL.  The family moved to Louisiana before Lance started school where his mom met and married Jimmy Haynes, whom Lance would forever after consider his dad.  After graduating from Hall Summit High School in 1993, he joined the Navy.  Lance served as a Corpsmen in the Navy in Twenty-Nine Palms, CA, until he was given early discharge to be able to go home and be a bone marrow donor for his brother, Kyle, who was battling Leukemia.

Lance married Jennifer “Nikki” Carter November 8, 2003.  Nikki had Kari, Matthew, and Britton from a previous marriage, Lance had Megan, and together they had Tyler.  He loved his family more than anything, but his favorite thing in the world was being “Papa” to his grandchildren.

Lance was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Hall Summit, LA, where he was baptized and attended regularly with his family.

Lance was preceded in death by his biological father, Oscar Jerry Bryan; dad, Jimmy Roy Haynes; grandson, Grayson Michael Allums; and brother, Kyle Anthony Bryan.

Lance is survived by his wife of 20 years, Nikki Bryan; sons, Mathew Allums, Britton Allums and wife, Destiney and Tyler Bryan; daughters, Kari Norred and husband, Kane and Megan Britt and husband, Jonathan; grandchildren, Paisley Allums, Kade Norred, Avery Britt, and Kamden Norred (due September 2023); mother, Katy Love-Haynes; brothers, Drew Love and wife, Renee, Jason Lawless, and Stephen Bryan; sister, Lauri Lowring and husband, Ricky; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Coushatta, LA.  Funeral services will be held Friday, May 19, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Coushatta, LA, with Bro. Collin Wimberly and Bro. Max Rasbury officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Eric Cason, Eric Shaffer, Bryan Fairchild, Nic Hultz, Anthony McGavin, and Reggie Musgrove.

In lieu of flowers, Lance be honored by donations to New Life Baptist Church in Hall Summit, LA, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. V at Willis-Knighton Cancer Center and to Hospice of Natchitoches for their excellent care.
