Larry Joyner

Funeral services will be held for Rev. Larry Joyner, age 86, at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Arcadia. Rev. Jeff Hoffman will officiate. The interment will follow at Mt. Mariah Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Larry was born January 2, 1931, in New Orleans, LA. He entered peacefully into rest on Monday, October 30, 2017, in Arcadia, LA. Larry preached at Bethel Baptisth Church in the Methvin Community of Red River Parish for 11 years and at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church form 1968 until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Jewell Joyner, sister Bennie Eaves and grandson David Christopher Perkins. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances Nelson Joyner; daughters Connie Storey and husband Randy, Nancy Durrett, and Patti Blenden and husband Gary; grandchildren Rachel French, Daniel Durrett, and Rebecca Hammons, by 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Marian Murphrey, brother Philip Joyner and wife Gail; and by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Dan Durrett, Daniel French, Cody Hammons, Bruce Eaves, Mark Murphrey and Tim Murphrey. Honorary pallbearer will be Guy Ben Murphrey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church or to Mt. Mariah Cemetery Fund.
