Larry Wallace Schloss

A memorial service for Larry Wallace Schloss will be held Monday, May 31, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Minister Barbara Jarrell of All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church. Larry was born on January 26, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio to Elsa and Wallace Schloss and passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. After serving in the United States Navy, Larry returned home to Cleveland, Ohio and married Susan Pilot and started their family. During his time in the Navy, he was an original crew member, "plank owner", of the aircraft carrier USS Independence. Larry became a world traveler with his position at Frymaster as an International Service Manager where he travelled to Europe, Australia, Japan, the Middle East, Mexico City and many other places. Larry was an avid sports fan, player and coach. He was a baseball Double-A pitcher and a lifetime bowler, even achieving the 300 Club. He was a great hugger and animal lover. Larry was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Susan P. Schloss; sons, William L. Schloss and wife, Janice and David W. Schloss and wife, Kristen; sister, Jonie Besednick; sister-in-law, Judy Nelson and nine grandchildren.
