Laura Louise Basco Clements

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Laura Louise Basco Clements, age 81, at St. Margaret Catholic Church, in Homer, LA, on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., Father Nicolas Duncan, officiated. Interment was at Buckner Cemetery near Sharon, LA. 

Mrs. Clements was born December 24, 1942, in Natchitoches, LA, to Mary Louise Vercher and Richard C. Basco, SR. She entered into rest on October 30, 2024, in Humansville, MO. Mrs. Clements was employed with Wal-Mart for over 20 years and then retired from the retail industry. She also was a substitute teacher in the Homer and Haynesville schools for many years. Mrs. Clements enjoyed watching hummingbirds at her four feeders and occasionally had to fight off the raccoon from the feeders. She loved to read and was a good cook. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wright Colvin Clements; daughter, Kim Clements; and sister, Rose Marie Basco.

She is survived by her sister, Margaret Basco of Homer, LA; two brothers, Allen Basco and wife Judy of Keatchie, LA, and Richard C. Basco, JR, and Kathy of Shreveport, LA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Clements, her family suggests memorials be made to St. Margaret Catholic Church.
