Edwina was born April 17, 1946 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Golden Cox of Coushatta, LA. She grew up in a large loving family alongside her two brothers, Edward and David and three sisters, Dorothy, Dena, and Joy. Shortly after graduating from high school in the spring of 1964, she wed her husband of nearly 60 years, Estern Nathaniel Havis, Jr. and together they raised five children. She worked tirelessly to provide a stable and loving Christian home for her growing family. As a stay-at-home mother and wife, she earned many titles: Kitchen Manager, Chauffeur, Linen Supervisor, Housekeeper, Groundskeeper and Account Manager. Her seemingly endless supply of energy was apparent in the fact that she rarely sat down and loved spending time outdoors. In one sense, she resembled her favorite bird, the hummingbird. She was small, watchful, and a beautiful person both inside and out. Her faith and her love for God were evident as she went about her daily life.

Edwina is survived by her husband, Estern N. Havis, Jr.; son, Nathaniel Glen Havis and his wife, RZ; daughters, Laura Inboden and her husband, Brian, Denise Fuller and her husband, Robert, Connie Havis, and Rebecca Havis; grandchildren, Charlene (husband, Ryan), Cheyenne, Alex, Tyler, Shala (husband, John), Leann (husband, Jonathan), Chelsie (husband, Cody), Glen, Jr. (wife, Shawnee), Kyle (wife, Bella), and Nikki (husband, Dillon), Bridgette (husband, Manny) and Harley; great-grandchildren, John, Jr., Peyton, DJ, Kayson, Jaxon, Jace-Wyatt, Schiler, Jaxson, Lucas, Mateo and Camrynn; along with a few little angels who are already in Heaven; as well as her entire church family at The Acts Church.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Shirley, Arlisha, and Juanita of St. Joseph Hospice for having provided excellent supportive care of this amazing lady for the last year.

Honoring Edwina as pallbearers will be Cody Harvey, Todd Wilson, Eric Darden, Luke Pierce, John Sacker, and Seth Peak.
