Funeral services celebrating the life of Lavena Walker Moss Pace will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Bro. Bill Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Minden Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2024, at Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Lavena was born January 2, 1938, in Dubberly, Louisiana and passed away September 23, 2024, in Minden, Louisiana. Lavena attended First United Pentecostal Church of Minden, Souls Harbor in Calhoun and Apostolic Lighthouse of Minden. She was a dedicated wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to cook, sew, crochet, play the piano, visit with family and friends, go on road trips and vacations, reading and singing. She was a faithful servant to the Lord and a mighty prayer warrior! Her favorite scripture was Proverbs 3:5-9. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Lavena was preceded in death by her parents, Ardie Lena DeLoach ad David Howard Walker, stepdad, John Walter Plunkett, husbands, Thomas Terrell Moss, Sr. and Jessie Morris Pace, children, William Randal Moss, Lavena Anne Kennedy, and Gina Lynn Moss, and siblings, Christine James, James Walker, Virginia Matthews, Howard Walker, David Walker, and J. W. Plunkett.
She is survived by her stepsister, Pearl Merritt, children, Thomas Terrell Moss, Jr. (Kim), Samuel Lynn Moss, Sr. (Janet), and Richard Adam Moss (Karla), grandchildren, Candi Myers, Talitha Moss Baker, Lena Weeks, LaLanda Moss, Holley LeButt, Christina Moss, Thomas Moss III, Elaina Moss, Nathen Kennedy, Lindsey Kennedy, Hannah Moss, Kamyrn Moss, Samuel Moss, Jr. and Janay Welch, great-grandchildren 24, great great-grandchild 1, and a host of numerous nieces and nephews.
