Lawrence "Larry" E. Montgomery, Jr.

KEITHVILLE, LA - Funeral services for Lawrence E. "Larry" Montgomery, Jr., 74, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park. Pastor Juan Huertas will be officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time. Larry was born November 26, 1941 to Jackie and Lawrence, Sr. in Shreveport, LA. After a brief illness he passed away on November 12, 2016. His wish was to die at home with his "family and dogs." His wish came true Saturday. Larry was a graduate of C.E. Byrd High School and became a journeyman and then master electrician. For many years he owned and operated Montgomery Electric Company. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Jacqueline Montgomery and his sister, Diane Montgomery. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Swann Montgomery; sons, Lawrence Montgomery III and wife, Michelle, and Ronald James Montgomery and wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Mallory Patterson and husband, Chase, Madison Montgomery and Andrew Montgomery; brother, Jack Caldwell Montgomery and wife, Catherine; along with nieces, nephews and extended family. Honoring Lawrence as pallbearers will be Clay Bryan, Scott Crager, John Durr, Jaf Fielder, Kenneth Frazier, Todd Grisham and Travis Grisham. Very special love and thanks to the Grace Community UMC Footnotes and Reflections Classes, Patty Linder and Tangela Jackson for all the care, love and support you gave to Lawrence.
