Lee Albion McNew, Jr. Lee Albion McNew, Jr. passed away on December 1, 2015. Funeral services will be held at Broadmoor Baptist Church Chapel in Shreveport, LA on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Larry Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Ave. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service in the Chapel. Mr. McNew was born February 18, 1932 in Annapolis, MD. He proudly served his country for four years in the Air Force during the Korean War. He met and married his loving wife Carol in 1955. He graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana in 1960; was an employee of Atlas Processing Company and then Arkla Gas until his retirement in 1993. Faithfully serving God as a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, he served in the Media Ministry as a camera operator and editor for over 20 years. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed the times spent with his granddaughters letting them fix his hair, sit in his lap while Papaw taught them how to use the computer, and hearing of their accomplishments as they grew. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Lee A. McNew, III, his parents, Lee A. McNew, Sr., and Ruby D. McNew, and brother, Gilbert D. McNew, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol W. McNew; son, Brian and wife Suzette; his granddaughters, Audrey and Margaret; his sister-in-law, Betty McNew, and a number of nieces and nephews. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Greg Williams, Alex Williams, David DeLoach, Dane Wactor, Charles Nash, MD, and Brad Massad. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Gilbert McNew, Jr. and Bill Specht. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Amedisys Hospice Care and Preferred Care of Shreveport for their care of Mr. McNew. Also, appreciation is extended to Drs. Karkee, Gattas, Patel, McCoy, Schuler, and Haynie who attended to Mr. McNew during this time. Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, 7200 Desiard St., Monroe, LA 71203 or the charity of the donor's choice.
