VIVIAN, LA. - Graveside services celebrating the life of Leota Bruce, age 81 will be held at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens, Vivian, LA at 3:00 pm Thursday, October 30th with Rev. Charles Thornton officiating. There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, October 30th from 10:00 am until 2:30 pm at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Vivian, LA.
Miss Bruce was born on November 24, 1933 in Mansfield, LA to Ellace J. and Anita Townsdin Bruce and passed away on October 28, 2014 at Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport after a lengthy illness. She was a retired accountant/bookkeeper and member the Pink Lady Auxiliary for North Caddo Medical Center in Vivian.
Miss Bruce is preceded in death by her parents, Ellace and Anita Bruce and is survived by her brothers, Ellace J. Bruce, Jr and wife, Kathy of Alma, AR and Sammy L. Bruce and wife, Sandra of Vivian, LA. She is also survived by her niece, Cindy Burton of Vivian, LA; nephews, Tim Bruce and wife, Denise of Columbus, IN and Jerry Bruce and wife, Mechelle of Georgia. Miss Bruce loved being "Nannie" to her great nieces and nephews. They include Katie Dial and husband, Talmadge of Ida, LA, Hollie Woodward and husband, Darek of Bargersville, IN, T. J. Bruce of Columbus, IN, Tate Burton, Spencer Burton and Riley Kay Burton all of Vivian, LA.
