Leta Mildred Collins

Leta Mildred Munnerlyn Collins, 86, of Longview, formerly of Vivian, LA, died on January 13, 2017, from complications of a lengthy illness. Mildred, or Pet as she was known to her family, was a loving mother and grandmother and a professional seamstress.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, V. V. (Mike) Munnerlyn, Jr, Vivian, LA and Robert Munnerlyn and his wife, Billie Munnerlyn, Virginia; her husband of 49 years, Henry Wallace Collins; her son-in-law Carl Pauley; and grandchildren, Lilianna Collins and Aaron Collins.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister and brother-in-law, Francine and Curtis Jones of Arlington, TX; her sister-in-law, Billie Jean Munnerlyn of Vivian, LA; her children and their spouses, Leta Jean and John Thomas of Jefferson, TX; Janet Pauley of Katy, TX; Debra and Mike Spearman of Vivian, LA; and Ron and JoAnn Collins of Bryan, TX; 11 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce Street, Vivian, LA, on Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are planned for Monday, January 16^th at Ida United Methodist Church at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Hulen Warren officiating. Interment will be at Munnerlyn Chapel Cemetery near her parents, Virgil and Zelma Munnerlyn.
