Lila R. Hopkins

Funeral services celebrating the life of Lila Ruth Hopkins, age 88 will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce Street, Vivian, LA with Rev. Kent Rhoads, pastor of The United Pentecostal Church in Oil City, LA officiating. Interment will follow at Gray Cemetery, Gray, Texas. There will be a time of visitation on Wednesday, March 11th at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Hopkins was born on July 23, 1931 in Missouri to Otis and Floadia Arvin and passed away on March 9, 2020 at Willis Knighton South in Shreveport, LA. She was a homemaker Mrs. Hopkins is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold Hopkins; son, Arthur Arvin; daughter, Helen Benoit and numerous siblings. Those left to cherish her memories are her two sons, Ronald Hopkins and wife, Jeanie of Longview, TX and Kenneth Hopkins of Smithland, TX; five daughters, Esther Marie Jenkins of Texarkana, TX, Karen Choate of Winnie, TX, Phyllis, Rita Jetton of Shreveport, LA and Connie Moody and husband, Rex of Bainbridge, GA. Mrs. Hopkins is also survived by 3 brothers, Samuel Arvin and wife, Della of Kansas City, KS, Bill Arvin and wife Sue of Mansfield, LA and Howard Arvin of Kansas City, KS. She is survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Honorary Mrs. Hopkins as pallbearers will be Casey Jetton, Jason Jetton, Cody Barlish, Rex Moody, Greg Hopkins, David Hopkins and Dawson Jetton.
