SHREVEPORT, LA - A memorial service celebrating the life of Mrs. Lillian Davis Gillean, 87, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at University Church of Christ, 2045 E. 70^th St., Shreveport, LA. Pastor Jerry Hodge will be conducting the memorial service. Mrs. Gillean was born October 18, 1927 in Robeline, LA and passed away June 29, 2015 in Shreveport, LA. She was a graduate of Centenary College and worked for Texas Eastern Oil and Gas Company for over 25 years as an Executive Secretary. She was a member of University Church of Christ, where she enjoyed hosting activities for many years. She loved her church family very much. She and her husband, Doug, of 40 years, enjoyed travelling; some of their most memorable trips were to The Holy Land and visiting their daughter, Theresa in Colorado and Ohio. They also enjoyed working in their yard together and dining out. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jule and Lee Corales; husband, Doug Gillean; and sister, Jewel Smith. She is survived by Theresa and Glenn Robbins, Linda and Lupe` Chavez, Michael Gillean, one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, cousins, friends, and many church brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made in honor of Mrs. Gillean to University Church of Christ.
