Lincoln H. “Billy” Wynn was born on April 7, 1940, in Bonita, Louisiana to loving parents, Lincoln H. Wynn and Jewel Smith Wynn. Billy went to Heaven on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, surrounded by his adoring family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024 located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Funeral services honoring the life of Billy will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road in Shreveport. Officiating will be Bishop Frank Alcorn. Honoring Billy as pallbearers will be Mark Garcie, Ed Pierce, Ronnie Mulford, Kevin Finch, Rhett Josting, Tom Wynn and Chad Blackwell.
Billy was raised to live off the land and was taught to work hard with his hands and God-given skills. He retired from Frymaster Corporation and was the owner-operator of Billy’s Stump Grinding Service until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking with the love of his life, Doris Alcorn Wynn, until her passing on November 9, 2022, after 61 years of marriage.
Billy is survived by his grandson, Chad Blackwell; granddaughter, Bonnie Blackwell; “adopted” son and daughter, Mark and Becky Garcie; three brothers-in-law, Billy Joe Alcorn, Frank “Edward” Alcorn and wife, Sue, and Henry “Ellis” Alcorn and wife, Diane; two sisters-in-law, Shelia Jane Daniel and Laura Evyone Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris; daughter, Sondra Gail Blackwell; brother, Jack Wynn; and three sisters, Dorothy Buffington, Melba Victory and Thelma Buffington.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Willis-Knighton North and Willis-Knighton Rehab for the wonderful care, love, and compassion given to Billy.
Billy will be greatly missed, but we will forever love and cherish his memory.
