Linda Gail Brooks

SHREVEPORT, LA - A Memorial service celebrating the life of Linda Gail Brooks, RN, 65, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport. Officiating will be Pastor Joe Wiggins. Linda was born on January 3, 1950 in Johnson City, Tennessee to Ralph and Ruth Correll Bowman and passed away suddenly on November 2, 2015. Linda lived her life to the fullest and touched the hearts of many along the way. She will be remembered by many as a giving, loving person and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Linda dedicated her life to her family and to the many patients and employees she served at LSU Medical Center and University Heath for over 30 years. She spent many holidays and off days walking the halls, serving patients and visitors instead of being home with her family. Linda had many fine qualities, but her devotion to her family will always be remembered as first and foremost. She was always taking care of others firsthand, then herself. Linda was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, especially when it came to the Cowboys playing the New Orleans Saints. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Vivian Bowman and her husband, Buster Brooks. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Julie Lipford and husband Dennis, and Jennifer McCallum; grandchildren, Victoria Brooks, David Hendrix, Chelsea Hendrix and Heaven McCallum; one great-grandchild, Nicolai Hendrix; nephews, Michael Appleby and Scotty Bowman; sister, Vicky Parks, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thanks to the ICU staff at Christus-Highland for the professional care that was given to her in her short hospitalization. Also, the family would like to extend a great thank you to the LSU Medical Center and University Health family for all the love shown to their mother over the many years. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to The Ronald McDonald Foundation, 26345 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673-1263 or www.donations@rmhc.org.
