Linda Gentry

GRAND CANE, LA--Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Linda C. Gentry, 76, will be at 11:00 am Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield, LA with Reverend Glenn Bezerra officiating. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Benson, LA. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 6pm till 8pm. Linda was born on October 23, 1941to James and Frances Cunningham and entered into rest on January 16, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Gentry, Jr. and her parents. Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She loved to travel with her granddaughter, Jewelee. She retired from Avaya formerly known as Western Electric after 30 years of employment and she was an avid New Orleans Saints fan. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, David Gentry and wife Melissa of Converse, LA; daughter, Sherill Nelson and husband Brian of Longview, TX; her sister, Carolyn Johnson and husband Gary of Dothan, AL; brothers, Billy Boyd Cunningham and wife Wanda of Edgewood, NM, and James "Jim" Cunningham and wife Jackie of Lavaca, AR; mother-in-law, Mildred Gentry of Grand Cane, LA; six grandchildren, Jewelee Gentry, Brian Nelson, Jr., Christopher Nelson, Brandon Nelson, Jonathan Nelson and Kameron Gentry; and two great grandchildren; Tate Nelson and Jenny Nelson. Honoring the life of Linda as pallbearers will be Brian Nelson, Jr., Christopher Nelson, Brandon Nelson, Jonathan Nelson, Kameron Gentry and Cody Gentry. Memorial donations may be made to charity of choice.
