Linda Norene Griffith Springer

Funeral services for Linda Norene Griffith Springer, 85, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Mooringsport United Methodist Church, 221 Lake St., Mooringsport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will be held in Memorial Gardens in Mooringsport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Dana Ellis.

Linda was born on December 2, 1939 in Kilgore, Texas to Roy Lee and Mary Ethel Wall Griffith and passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025 in Mooringsport, Louisiana.

Linda grew up and went to school in Mooringsport for elementary school and the first half of high school. She was homecoming queen in 10th grade. She went to North Caddo for the last two years of high school. She attended Northwestern University briefly then came home to marry the love of her life, Sammy, on June 6, 1958. After Sammy’s military training they moved to Friedburg, Germany for two years while Sammy was stationed there in the United States Army. Linda loved to tell stories of them traveling together all over Europe during that time. When they returned home, she began the career that she loved. She started working for an airline. Then she moved to working as a travel agent. She had so many stories of traveling the world. She then started her own travel agency, Globe Travel. She had years of loyal customers and had locations in Shreveport and Dallas.

Growing up she loved to roller skate competitively and was proud to tell you that her mother handmade her costumes. She loved to jitterbug with Sammy. But more than anything- she loved spending time with her family. She never missed an event or activity that her grandkids took part in.

Linda had a positive influence on everyone around her. She could always find a way to lift you up and help you succeed. The joy she had for life was contagious and her cup was 100% full. She had a strong faith handed down from her mother and a bond with her siblings, nieces, nephews and grandchildren which she felt blessed and grateful for.

She was a wonderful example of a life well lived.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Gwen Sheffield, Darlene Aberl and husband, Marty, and Marcille Bryant and husband, Donald and her brother, Bill Griffith and wife, Dorothy. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 65 years, Sam Springer of Mooringsport, LA; her only son, Steve Springer, MD and wife, Amy Allien Springer; grandchildren, Jacob, Lily and Beck all of Lake Charles, LA and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Honoring Linda as pallbearers will be Jeff Ardoin, Derrick Robideaux, Brian Chapman, Aaron Dever, Paul Aberl, Rook Crow, Rodney Walter, Jr., Ken Alexander and Michael Meyers.
