Lisa Wood Sealy Hollier, 57, passed away surrounded by her family on August 2, 2015 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, after a brief illness. She was born on January 11, 1958 in Shreveport, Louisiana and graduated from Southfield School.
Lisa spent many years as a fantastic mother and Granny, branching out into an eclectic career path that included oil and gas entrepreneur, environmental assessor, restauranteur, and caterer. Best known for her talent in the kitchen, Lisa's passion for cooking developed to such a level, it became an expression of her art. She was the first to drop everything and come running when someone needed help, and could always be counted on when the going got tough. The last seven years, she traveled the country with Richie and loved exploring new places from autumns in Connecticut to the cold of San Francisco's summers. No matter where they traveled, Lisa made sure they were always home for the holidays with their children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel Pollard Sealy, Jr. and Emily Sue Peterson Sealy.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 30 years, Richard Lewis Hollier; children, Emily Ward Bynum, Sarah Bynum Jose and husband Nickolas, and Conner Sealy Hollier; grandchildren, Gabriel Thomas Jose, Noah Perry Jose, and Isabella Celeste Jose; siblings, Scott Peterson Sealy, Sr. and wife, Diane, Sue Sealy Geren, Laura Sealy Curtis, and Mark Pollard Sealy and wife, Cherie; numerous nieces, nephews, and a bevy of fun-loving cousins and extended family.
Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street in Shreveport from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2015. Graveside service, officiated by Rev. Don Nedd, will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Forest Park East, 3700 St. Vincent Ave. in Shreveport. Honoring Lisa as pallbearers will be Bernie Hawkins, Charles Hollier, Jr., Gabriel Jose, Jack Rodden, Jonathan Sealy, and "Waffle House" Roy.
