STONEWALL, LA-Funeral services for Logan "Max" Gremen, 90, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. David Permenter. Interment will follow in Old Mooringsport Cemetery in Mooringsport, LA. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Max known as "Chief" from Mooringsport, LA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 27, 2014. He was born on March 10, 1924 to the late Petross Graman and the late Icelee Garza. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps prior to WWII and during the war served in the South Pacific including Guadalcanal. He was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his bravery and service to his country. After the war he met the love of his life, Bertie Greer. They settled down on the banks of Caddo Lake in Mooringsport, LA. He was an avid fisherman and hunter as well as a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. He worked many years as an industrial and residential painter. He was a devoted husband, dad and grandpa. He never met a stranger and was eager to share the teachings of the Bible. Preceding Max in death were his parents and brothers, Jimmie Gremen, Jack Hart, Jr. and Billy Wayne Hart; his sons, Buster Petross Gremen and Clarence Buster Gremen. He is survived by his wife, of 68 years, Bertie Gremen; sister, Mary Jane Kent, daughters, Lily Mackey and husband, Bill, Rosanne Garrett and husband, Earl; granddaughter, Leanne Divine and husband, Eric; grandsons, Wayne Boyter and wife, Holly, John Carter and wife, Jamee, Mark Boyter and wife, Sybil; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. The family would like to thank Nell and the staff of Superior Hospice for their kindness and compassion during a very difficult time.
