On February 22, 2018, a star in the Heavens shone brighter. Our beloved mother left this earth and continued her journey.
Lois Forrester was born September 27, 1929 to Boyce and Leta Richmond in Shreveport, LA. She married Charles "Hugh" Forrester in January 27, 1949. She was a church secretary at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was granted the Bishop's Award. Her faith, family, and friends were the true joys of her life.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hugh Forrester; son, Paul Forrester; brother, Boyce "Sonny" Richmond; and sister, Carol Crofton. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ralph (Francie), Steve (Dorothy), Mark (Melita), and Bill; daughters, Beth Renstrom and Claire Crawford; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; beloved sister, Betty Richmond Boogaerts; half brothers, David Richmond and R. Layne Bonvillian; sister-in-law, Billie Richmond; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2018 at St. Mary of the Pines. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Crawford, Duane Forrester, Neal Forrester, Scott Martin, David Martin, Tim Forrester, and Chip Strother. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Miles, Dick Van Tiem, and Johnny Bruton.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Robert Hernandez, Laura Perkins, and the staff of Heritage Manor Stratmore.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Percy R. Johnson Burn Foundation, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or to St. Mary of the Pines Prayers and Squares.
