Lois Myrlene Hodges Moore, 88, of Vivian passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 from an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 23, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Vivian, LA with Dr. Barry Carter, pastor of Walnut Hill Baptist Church officiating, assisted by Rev. Richard Beeman. Interment will follow at the Chapelwood Memorial Gardens in Vivian, LA. There will be time of visitation the 22nd of January from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Lois was a lifelong resident of Vivian where she was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church and the VFW Women\'s Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and camping, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends.
Lois was born August 29,1926 to Gordon Elbert Hodges and Fannie Pearl Trant Hodges in Ida, LA.
Preceding her in death is her husband of 64 years, Eugene \"Dee\" Moore, and grandson Michael Moore. Left to cherish her memories are her four children: Belton and wife Judy Moore of Vivian, LA; Wanda and husband Norman McMahon of Tampa, FL; Judy and husband Steve Moore of Bivins, TX and Gordon Moore of Vivian. 10 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. her sister Faye Crow of Sun, LA and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
Honoring, her as pallbearers will be Belton Moore II, David Moore, Ray Moore, John Moore, Scott Moore and Steve Moore.
The family would like to thank the staff of North Caddo Medical Center and Dr. Stephen Taylor for their continuous care of their mother.
