BENTON, LA - Services for Lola Harper Smith, 81, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Cypress Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Billy Pierce and Rev. Roger Zimmerman. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery, Haughton, LA. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA.
Lola was born December 16, 1932 in Natchez, MS and died June 11, 2014 in Benton, LA. She was a member of Cypress Baptist Church. Lola was one of the first women Vice Presidents in banking. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association, heavily involved in Benton Restoration and head of her school reunions.
Lola is preceded in death by her husband, Roland A. Smith and her parents, Clara Harper Piper and father, Thomas Harper.
Lola is survived by her son, Tom Smith; adopted daughter, Angela Parsley; granddaughter, Jamie Smith, all of Benton, LA and Bob Buckley of Camden, AR.
Honoring Lola as pallbearers will be Larry Classen, Glen Sullivan, Jerry Defatta, Henry Cantrell, Mike White and her son, Tom Smith.
