WELDON, LA: Funeral services for Lona Elizabeth Lee Hammett were held Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Weldon Baptist Church in Weldon, LA near Bernice, LA with Rev. William Colvin officiating. Interment was in Weldon Cemetery in Weldon under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer, LA. The family received friends from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer. Lona was born August 22, 1927 in Weldon, LA and entered into rest November 12, 2015 in Homer, LA. She was preceded in death by husbands Loy Lee and Jesse Hammett; a son Terry Wayne Lee; her parents James and Eula Rea; a brother, Britt Rea; and a sister, Beatrice Lee. She is survived by her three daughters, Twyla Moore and husband Robert of Minden, LA, Loyce Hightower and Katie Clements both of Homer, LA; a brother, James Chesley Rea of Farmerville, LA; a sister, Melba Farrar-Orr of El Dorado, AR; seven grandchildren, Richard Moore, Geoff Moore, David Welch, Amy Cox, Joel Welch, Crystal LaRue and Chris Clements; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
