Bossier City, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Lonnie Eugene Ahrens, age 58 will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bossier City, LA with Pastor Kunz officiating. Interment to follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, LA. There will be a time of visitation on Sunday, July 31^st from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Lonnie was born in North Sacramento, CA on July 12, 1958 to Delane and Mary Shrontz Ahrens and passed away on July 28, 2016 in Shreveport, LA. He worked as a truck driver in construction and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Lonnie loved spending time with his grandchildren, Emma and Aubrey Bell. Lonnie is preceded in death by his son Russell Ahrens; grandparents, Aldolf and Louise Ahrens and Kenneth and Bernice Shrontz. He is survived by his parents, Delane and Mary Ahrens; wife of 40 years, Colleen Reach Ahrens; son, Matthew Ahrens and daughter, Starla Ahrens Bell and Bryan Bell. Lonnie is also survived by his grandchildren, Emma and Aubrey Bell and sister, Linda Frost. Honoring Lonnie as pallbearers will be Bryan Bell, Evan Dunn, James Ayers, Ricky Adams, Bubba Hassel and Craig Small.
