Lorene Ann Beshea Branton

A graveside service celebrating the life of Lorene Ann Beshea Branton, 89, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St Vincent Ave, Shreveport, Louisiana.

Lorene passed away peacefully on November 18, 2022, following a brief illness. She was born on February 12, 1933, in Springhill, Louisiana, to Elsie and Willie Beshea.

Lorene married Henry Edward Branton, Jr. in 1950, and they made their home in Shreveport, Louisiana, where they had four children. For many years, Lorene worked as a waitress and prided herself in her hard work, instilling that trait in her children. She adored her two dogs, who were very spoiled and loved. She also expressed love for her family through her chicken and dressing and taking care of her siblings from an early age.

Lorene is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Henry Edward Branton, Jr.; daughters, Shirley Tanner, Barbara McDonald, and Darlene Branton; son-in-law, Jerry Lynn McDonald; granddaughter, Kelly Branton; brothers, Mack Beshea, Carl Beshea, Clarence Beshea, Earl Beshea, and Willie “Junior” Beshea; and sisters, Annie Rea Bullard, Dorless Murray, and Bobbie Rae Streetman. She is survived by her son, Gary Branton and wife, Cathy; grandchildren, Bridget Vasko, Jerry Allen McDonald, Cherie Trichell, Kerry Faler, Teresa Williams, Kevin Johnson, Jennifer Ferguson, and David Crook; 23 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Dee Beshea; and a host of nieces and nephews.
