Loretta W. Griffin

Loretta W. Griffin, 86, was born September 22, 1931 in Cullman, AL to Charles and Minnie Wrenn and passed away on April 19, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. She was a dental receptionist for Dr. Kenneth Sweatman for 20 years. She loved quilting, shopping, and watching TV daily in her favorite chair. She has joined her best friend, Lucky Mary, in heaven. Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hayden Griffin; son, Carl Acie Griffin; daughter, Katie Loretta Gadd; grandson, Colton Paul Bagwell; and four brothers. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Gail VanAlstyne and husband Frank, Teresa Thompson and husband Dean, Janie Stork and husband Greg, and Carla Bagwell; son, Danny Griffin; grandchildren, Lisa, Brian, Jason, Robert, John, Traci, Tina, Tammy, Brandie, Tadd, Krystle, Lauren, Ryan, and Carly; twenty-six great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren and two more on the way; and sister, Martha King. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Lifecare on Kings Hwy and Regional Hospice. A Celebration of Life will be held between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home.
