Lorie Anne Hamilton Pennywell

Lorie Anne Hamilton Pennywell was born a star on May 11, 1960 to John Key Hamilton and Bertha Lee Hamilton in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She exited her stage amongst glowing praise from those who knew her on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at age 64.

Lorie’s memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana 71118 and will be officiated by her nephew, Calvin Hamilton.

Lorie Pennywell took joy in teaching many she met to see beauty in the night sky when it was darkest. She was known to push those she knew to be better and to trust themselves. Lorie believed that it was okay to be outside of the box and to love yourself while also working to improve yourself. She stood up for others and taught them to project their voice when needed and wanted to. Lorie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and cousin to those she has traveled ahead of.

There are many that knew Lorie that will miss their adventures together with her such as vacations, impromptu sing-alongs, walks, star gazing, and Korean drama marathons. Many will miss seeing her shine on stage as she displayed her amazing acting and beautiful singing voice.

Lorie will be missed by her daughter, Tiffany Lee Pennywell and her grandchildren, David Key Marcantel, Sean Patrick Holmes, and Loria Lee Holmes. She will also be missed by her sisters, nephews, nieces, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

There’s a large hole where she was, but her love and light remains.
