Graveside services for Mr. Lorris Ralph Johnson, 91 of Athens, Louisiana will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Mariah Cemetery in Arcadia, with Reverend Perry Anderson officiating.
Lorris Ralph was born May 18, 1929 in Claiborne Parish, he passed away January 18, 2021 in Homer, Louisiana.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Chandler Johnson; parents, Lee Roy, and Ella Johnson; infant brother, Gary Johnson; brother, Lester Johnson, and granddaughter Carrie Groves.
He is survived by daughters, Jody Groves, Deborah Conly, and husband Kenneth; grandchildren, Leslie Harrington and husband David, Christy Frost and husband Kevin, Bridget McHan and husband Patrick and Stacey Smothermon and husband Billy, 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Geneva Taylor, Virginia Rigdon, and husband James along with their son Terry Rigdon; numerous nieces, nephews and loving family and friends.
Lorris Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Army and he worked for the Housing Authority in Bossier City, Louisiana. He was a faithful member of Mt. Mariah Methodist Church and served on the cemetery board for many years. He was a member of the Lions Club, and genealogy was his passion. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be David Harrington, Patrick McHan, Billy Smothermon, Kevin Frost and Devin Harrington. Honorary pallbearers will be Aidan Smothermon, Kenneth Conly, and James Rigdon.
The family would like to thank Dr. Abshire and his staff, also Regional Hospice for the care they provided.
