Louie Wayne Williams

Louie Wayne Williams, 76, was called home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ July 20, 2024, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Funeral services for Louie will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Ave. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Bro. Clay Fuqua.

Louie was born on September 10, 1947, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Louie and Opal Williams. After graduating from Fair Park High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served for four years where he was deployed to Vietnam.

Louie met Janette when they were in grade school where he would climb a tree and throw acorns at her. It was love at first sight. Louie and Janette married May 30, 1968, and had two daughters, Melissa and Mandy.

Louie retired from Swepco in 2002 after 25 years of service.

Louie was a son, brother, husband, dad, pawpaw, and a friend. He was always there when you needed him. He loved to hunt and fish and was truly a master craftsman in his love for wood turning and furniture building.

Louie is preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Opal Williams; and his beloved wife of 41 years, Janette Williams. Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Melissa Mitchell and husband, Rodger, and Mandy Foster and husband, Randy; two grandchildren, David Mitchell and wife, Sarah, and Mikayla Cella and husband, Kent; his precious great-granddaughters, Hadley, Piper, Hazel and Maggie; and his sister, Betsy Williams and Cheryl.

Honoring Louie as pallbearers will be Rodger Mitchell, Randy Foster, David Mitchell, Kent Cella, Elvis English, and Lester Lazarus. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Richard Latsos, John Eldridge and Walter Miller.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home and Willis-Knighton Hospice for the exceptional love and care given to Louie during his time there.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana.
