Greenwood, LA - A celebration of life for Louis Cornelius Gaudin, 82, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Pastor Steve Pettey of Pinecroft Baptist Church will be officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Laurel Land Cemetery, 6000 S RL Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel from 2:00 p.m. until service. Louis was born on April 15, 1933 in Shreveport, LA to Malvina and O'Neil Gaudin. He passed away on December 4, 2015 in his home in Greenwood, La. He graduated from St. John's High School in Shreveport. He served nine years in the US Navy and 25 years as an air traffic controller at Red Bird, Love Field and DFW Airports, Dallas, TX. He was known to his family and friends as a philosopher, patriot, prankster, mentor, and devoted Christian. Preceding him in eternal life are his parents, Malvina and O'Neil Gaudin; wife of 51 years, Dorothy; brothers, O'Neil Jr., Edmond and Bill; sister, Sister Jeannette Gaudin; and grandson, Angus. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Patricia; sisters, Sister Mary Ann Gaudin, SFCC, Joyce Fox and Estelle (Pete) Nasser; sons, Louis, Jr. and wife Kay, Mark, Stephen and wife Ande, David and Kelly, Philip and Aleesa, Patrick and wife Tessa; daughter, Theresa Rea and husband Tull; 3 stepchildren, Gina Longino and husband Jamie, Lee Ann Kendall and husband Michael, Michael Fisher and wife Kirsten; 11 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren; 2 great grandsons. Honoring him as honorary pallbearers at the funeral service will be Philip Gaudin, Lawrence Fox, Sam Longino, David Stiff, George Fox, and Todd Rea. Honoring him as pallbearers at the graveside service will be Louis Gaudin, Jr., David Kendall, Eric Gaudin, Tull Rea III, David Gaudin, and Logan Gaudin. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice to honor Louis' desire to help those in need.
