Lucy Lee Gentry Jennings

A visitation for Lucy Lee Gentry Jennings will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. A graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. at Jennings Chapel Cemetery, Marthaville, Louisiana.

Lucy was born on March 11, 1932, to Edward Earl Gentry and Atla Spillman Gentry in Cloutierville, Louisiana and passed away on January 10, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Lucy grew up in Marthaville, Louisiana and lived her adult life in Shreveport, Louisiana. She worked for Caddo Schools as a secretary at Woodlawn High School. Lucy enjoyed reading, gardening, journaling, and working on family history. She treasured spending time with her family and friends and especially loved the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandson. 

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Calvin “Jeb” Jennings; her parents, Edward Earl Gentry and Atla Spillman Gentry; her brother, Edward Earl “Son” Gentry and wife, Lorraine; and her sister, Brownie Shirley and husband, Reverend C.F. “Red” Shirley.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Jennings Demane and husband, Mark; her son, Richard Calvin Jennings and wife, Teress; her granddaughter, Rebekka Jennings Norwood and husband, Trent; her grandson, Michael Kole Jennings; her great grandson, Jack Calvin Norwood; her brother, Robert Gentry and wife, Laurie; her sister, Evelyn “Evie” Sutton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lucy requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Coats for Kids or Paralyzed Veterans of America.
