Jefferson, TX ~ Funeral services celebrating the life of Lucy P. West, age 81 will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 09, 2014 at the Vivian Church of the Nazarene, 1517 N. Pine Street, Vivian, LA with Dr. Ralph West, retired Louisiana District Superintendent officiating, assisted by Rev. J. D. Sailors, pastor of the church and Rev. William Duke. Interment will follow in the Gray Cemetery, Gray, TX. There will be a time of visitation on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce Street, Vivian, LA.
Mrs. West was born on February 14, 1933 in Bienville, LA to Tommie and Etoy Plunkett and passed away on September 6, 2014 at Willis-Knighton Pierremont after a lengthy illness. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family that she loved so much. She was an active member of the Vivian Church of the Nazarene and member of the church Lift Organization.
Mrs. West was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Nell Hoffmeymer, Ima McBroom and Myrt Culbertson; 1 brother, Cliff Page; son, Garland West, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Dale West and 1 nephew, Casey Plunkett. She is survived by her husband of almost 49 years, Garland West; sons, Cade Havard and wife, Anneal, Neil Havard and wife, Laura, Sid Havard and wife, Lena, Tommy West and wife, Pam, David West and wife, Donna, Ronald West and wife, Sandra; daughters, Renae Chandler and husband, Harmon and Teri Smith and husband, Mike. She is also survived by her grandchildren, David West, Jr, Stuart Havard, Doug Havard, Dylan Havard, Tiffany Cecil, Joe West, Amanda Havard, Chance Havard, Lindsey Whitaker, Ethan Quarles, Chandler Smith, Katie Porter, Grayson Smith, Mackenzie Smith, Connor Smith, Dawn Reuter and Devin Reuter; great grandchildren, Raine West, Davy West, Hannah Gause, Anniston West, Kannan Whitaker, Brooklynn Smith, Kiriel Havard and Tristian Havard; siblings, Sonny Plunkett, Ronald Plunkett, Hazel Sullivan and Carol Nelson.
Honoring Mrs. West, as pallbearers will be her grandsons, David West, Jr., Joe West, Chance Havard, Ethan Quarles, Grayson Smith and Dylan Havard. Honorary pallbearers will be Christian Cecil and Devin Reuter
