Services celebrating the life of Gladis C. Hill Lynch, 93, will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. Dusty Small, pastor of Gateway Church. Gladis was born in Holly Springs, AR on April 26, 1924 and passed away after a lengthy illness on May 4, 2017. Ms. Lynch was a member of Gateway Church and a member of Circle of Love at Gateway. Gladis was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and was a most proud MVP, representing Azalea Estates in Beanbag Baseball competitions. She and second husband, Tim Lynch, performed gospel music at several churches and nursing homes in the Shreveport area for many years. Gladis worked for South Central Bell in Shreveport and Southwestern Bell in Houston and Victoria, TX. She retired in 1983 with 22 years of service. Gladis was preceded in death by her parents, Mellard and Nora Wade; husbands, Charles E. Hill of 46 years and Tim Lynch of 12 years; brother, Charlie Wade; sisters, Ruth Bigger, Ruby Warford, Katie Milner and Rosa Lee Sparks. Ms. Lynch is survived by a brother, Tommy Wade of Yazoo City, MS; sons, Charles Ernie Hill Jr. of Houston, TX and Pesky Hill and wife Carol of Shreveport, LA, granddaughters, Larissa Stout and husband Will and Ashley Petree and husband Brad of Shreveport, LA, great-grandsons, William Stout and Hudson Stout, great-granddaughter, Molly Ann Petree, Her three stepchildren are Daniel Lynch, Jeanie Price and Amy Lynch. Pallbearers will be Gary Warford, James Milner, Jeff Wade, Gary Barnes, Will Stout, Doug Robinson, Calvin Fair and Brad Petree. The family wishes to thank the staff at Azalea Estates, Willis-Knighton Pierremont and North, Progressive Care Center, Dr. Krishna Singh and Dr. Clarence Teagle for the loving care the last few months. A special thanks to Dr. James Jackson.
