Lynda Nadine Ferguson Creech Hinson, of Stanley, Louisiana, passed away surrounded by family on October 10, 2024 at her home after many years of battling cancer.
Lynda was born on July 6, 1946 to Bennie W. and Nancy Young Ferguson in Logansport, Louisiana. She grew up on the family homestead in Hunter, Louisiana and went to grade school in Stanley, Louisiana. She remained an active member of the Logansport and Stanley communities her whole life and remained lifelong friends with many.
After years working as a pharmacy technician, Lynda became a business owner in 1995. She took pride as an co-owner of Mansfield Drug. She valued working with her “drug store family” and in the community.
Lynda was known for her fun and kind nature, her generosity, and her eagerness to bring people together and make everyone laugh. She was the heart of her family and was the link that kept nieces, nephews, and cousins close across generations.
Lynda is preceded in death by her parents, Bennie W. and Nancy Young Ferguson; her sister, Janice Ferguson Shaver; her baby brother, Glen Edward Ferguson, and her ex-husband turned lifelong friend, Billy Creech.
Lynda is survived by her husband, Ronnie Hubert Hinson; daughter, Kristi Creech Pinkston and husband, Dwayne; granddaughters, Magen Morris and partner, Ashley, and Paige Pinkston; step-daughter, Veronica Hinson Evans and husband, Bryan; step-son, Steven Hinson and wife, Ashley; step-grandchildren, Christian Evans, Aaron Evans, Madison Hinson, and Braxton Hinson; her sister, Bennie Ferguson Parker and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Logansport, Louisiana. Burial to follow at Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery in Hunter, Louisiana.
