M.A. "Bubba" Reeves

DOYLINE, LA - M. A. "Bubba" Reeves, Jr., 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, January 12, 2015. Services to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 211 Pilgrim Rest Church Road, Doyline, LA 71023, officiated by Rev. Ed Smith and Rev. Ben Jordan. Graveside services, led by Rev. Gary Faircloth, will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation with family will be held Wednesday evening, January 14, 2015, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City. Bubba (at times known as Bub, Bubba Claus, and PePop) loved his God, his family, friends, farming, cowboy hats, boots and tractors. He was a hard worker, dreamed big, and could turn dreams into realities. He began R & R Feed and Seed in Doyline in the late 1960s; moving to Bossier City as Topps Milling Co. in March, 1970. Bubba's vision grew into what is known today as Topps Western World and Topps Trailer Sales and Service. There is a great homecoming in heaven as Bubba joins his mother and father, Marion Alma and Grace Hilman Reeves, brothers, Aswell Reeves, Russell Reeves, Charlie Reeves, sisters, Elizabeth Reeves Brewer, Carmen Reeves Laughman, and many dear friends. Bubba is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Alice Lee Daughenbaugh Reeves of Doyline, LA; his son, Mark "Topp" Reeves and wife, Vicky of Haughton, LA; daughter, Julie Bridewell and husband, Colin of Haughton, LA; and three grandchildren, Emily Grace Reeves, Dalton Blane "Scooter" Reeves, and Haylee Anne "Miss Cupcakes" Bridewell of Haughton, LA. Bubba is also survived by one sister, Mary "Toy" Reeves Harper and a sister-in-law, Sue Reeves and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Scott Bayles, Mike Brewer, Randy Campbell, Jerry Chandler, Joe Jarvis, Donnie McElwee, Matt Remedies and Jason Scott. Honorary pallbearers and lifelong friends include James Cavender, Robert Davis, Mickey Eddins, "Buddy" Lucky III, Johnny Snyder, Paul Taylor and Nelson Young. The family extends a heartfelt Thank You to Jason Scott, Topps Western World - Store Manager, who has been a friend beyond measure, faithfully working at Topps, the hay fields, and wherever he saw a need. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, or the charity of choice. For thou shalt eat the labor of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Psalm 128:2
