Funeral services celebrating the life of Malcom E. Rainey, Jr., age 75 will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce Street, Vivian, LA. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery in Bloomburg, TX. There will be a time of visitation Friday July 2nd from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Rainey was born in Cass Co., TX to his parents, Malcom E. Rainey, Sr and Prudy L. Hinton and passed away on June 24, 2021 at his residence after a sudden illness. He was a 1966 graduate of Woodlawn High School. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving as a marksman in Vietnam from 1966-1968 and then became a meat cutter for Barksdale Air Force Base for 18 years. He was a Baptist, member of the Masonic Lodge #362 and he loved to fish and hunt.
Mr. Rainey is preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Robert E. Rainey.
Left to cherish his memory his wife of 52 years, Marilyn Rainey of Mooringsport, LA; two sisters, Mary Hinton of Blanchard, LA and Becky Baker of Shreveport, LA; sister-in-law, Janice Cloud and 5 nieces and nephews, Jaime, Marcie, Erika, Darryl and Kevin.
