SHREVEPORT, LA - Mamie Green Organ, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 1, 2015 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park, St. Vincent Avenue. Dr. Jeff Raines and Dr. Mike Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Organ was born on June 21, 1923 in Adamsville, TN to Neil and Zella Phillips Littlefield. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husbands, Homer Green and Fred M. Organ; sister, Mary Holley; brothers, Leonard, Philip, Hubert and Gerald Littlefield. Left to cherish her memory is her son; Barry Green and wife, Marilyn; daughter, Debbie Green Carlisle and husband, Gary; stepsons, Dr. Dennis Organ and wife, Sherry and Neal Organ and wife, Ruth; grandchildren, Brian Carlisle and wife, Dr. Kelly Carlisle, Clint Carlisle; step-grandchildren; Michael Organ and wife, Michelle, Philip Organ and wife, Amy, Alex Organ and wife, Jenny, Allison Organ Phillips and husband, Brad, and David Organ and wife, Belinda; and several great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was a long time member of Parkview Baptist Church, having served as Children's Sunday School teacher for 50 years, where she also served many years as church clerk and trustee.
Honoring Mrs. Organ as pallbearers will be Brian Carlisle, Clint Carlisle, Ethan Carlisle, Randy Guy, Brian Rowell, and Nolan Wilson.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the Doctors and staff at Christus Schumpert Highland for all the care, love and support they gave to Mamie during her stay.
