Shreveport, La- On Tuesday, December 30, a memorial service celebrating the life of Margaret B. Anderson will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Margaret died peacefully December 25, following a short illness.
Born Margaret Cecilia Bergeron, December 5, 1930 in the Village of Bourg, Louisiana in Terrebonne Parish, to John Adam and Emily Bergeron, she was reared in New Orleans and attended New Orleans public schools. She graduated from Sophie B. Wright High School in 1947 at age 16 1/2. She attended Northwestern, Centenary College and LSU-S, and did substitute teaching in Caddo Parish Schools from 1968 - 1971. Margaret was Secretary/Parish Administrator of St. James Episcopal Church for 26 years, retiring in 1997. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren and their accomplishments. She loved family, friends, her close neighbors, cooking for others, and working in her yard.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents and the father of her children, J.B. Anderson. She is survived by four children - Lynden Robert Anderson and wife, Sheryl; Ronald Craig Anderson; Karen Marie Moushon and husband, Don; and Lisa Gail Barefield and husband, David; 9 grandchildren - Ila Caitlin Leger and husband, Shadd; Kelsey Anderson; Shelly Diane Wiard and husband, Dallas; Brooke Leigh Myers and husband, Justin; Ronnie Anderson, Jr.; Donald Alan Moushon and wife, Amy; Amanda Marie Favrot and husband, Zach; Stephen David Barefield and wife, Anna; and Mary Katheryn Barefield; four great-grandchildren - Landon Alan Moushon; Lauren Elizabeth Moushon; Kai Alan Favrot; and Becket Stephen Barefield.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Margaret\'s memory to St. James Episcopal Church, 2050 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Shreveport, Louisiana 71118.
