Margaret Brooks

Graveside services for Margaret Blankenship Brooks, 98, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 at Forest Park East Cemetery. Margaret was born December 27, 1919 in Birmingham, AL to Gainey Blankenship and Irma Mae Guy Blankenship and passed away in her home on April 21, 2018 in Shreveport. She married the love of her life Elmo Brooks on November 18, 1938 and they were happily married for 58 years. Margaret loved her life with Elmo, together they both worked at NASA and always had a Chihuahua to dote on. Margaret had a great passion for golf, and also enjoyed church and her family. Margaret was preceded in death by parents; her husband, C Elmo Brooks; and her brother, James Blankenship. Left to cherish her memory are her nephews and nieces, Jerry Collins, Michael Brooks, James O'Brien Blankenship, Claudette Dempsey; sister-in-law Jackie Brooks; and numerous great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to Marie Mathison, Betty Monroe, and Annette Smith for being wonderful caregivers and friends to Margaret. We were very lucky to have you all.
