Margaret Marzine Stevens

A private graveside service for Margaret Stevens, 89, will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Gary Boswell, retired minister Westview Christian Church.

Margaret was born on November 18, 1933 to James M. Manning and Ezma Manning Ferguson, in Neshoba County Mississippi and passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Margaret was a resident of Shreveport, Louisiana where her career was in retail sales. She was raised on a farm in Neshoba County, Mississippi, with her brother and two sisters. After marrying her husband, Loyd Stevens, the couple moved to Shreveport in 1953. In Shreveport, Margaret and Loyd made their family home and raised their daughters, Debbie and Phyllis. Margaret dedicated her life to her family, including her granddaughters, Ashley and Nicole. She was a longtime, dedicated member of Westview Christian Church and well known for her strength of character, sense of humor, excellent cooking and lead foot.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 51 years, Loyd Stevens; sisters, Opal Burkes and Marvis Sisson; and brother, Frank Manning. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Debbie Burgess and husband, Vernon, and Phyllis Young and husband, Mike; granddaughters, Ashley Martin and husband, Matt, and Nicole Kincaid and husband, David; great-grandsons, Cason Haggard and William Martin; and a special niece, Patti Abraham.
